About Kathiana

Kathiana LeJeune is the author of The Power of the Palate: Through the Great Exchange. She earned her master’s degree in Political Management at the George Washington Graduate School of Political Management. She currently works as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consultant.

Kathiana is passionate about peace-building policy, women’s rights, human rights, women’s access to global higher education, and global public relations. She was inspired to write her book because she realized how food drives our relationships, connections, and society. She hopes to harness the power of gastrodiplomacy to pursue its application in conflict resolution and diplomacy.

When not speaking on The Power of the Palate, you can find her hosting a dinner, brunch, or banquet to bring people together through a mutual love of delicious foods. Through these meals, she hopes to empower progress for issues that matter most to her including women’s rights, human rights, women’s access to global higher education, global public relations, and peace-building policy.

Kathiana is always eager to learn about new cultures and she enjoys traveling whenever possible to experiment with new cuisines. Those who know her will say Kathiana is one of the most welcoming people they’ve met, always smiling and never afraid to share a meal with a stranger. No matter who she’s with or where she is, Kathiana is in her element when she’s laughing and enjoying the company of others over a good home-cooked meal.
